Payroll can be a time comsuming activity for any business. It is important that it is carried out accurately for both the business and your staff. Most businesses do not have the skill, knowledge or resources to deal with the compexities of tax and National Insurance of wages, salaries and benefits.
As with all other aspects of running any business there are rules and regulations, all of which can be found on the HMRC.gov website and is provided free of charge in the "New Employer Pack" when first registering your business as an employer.
Many businesses find they are able to manage their own payroll alone when they have only a few staff. As the business grows and staff numbers increase it becomes a little too complicated or time consuming. This is the time to look at outsourcing the payroll to someone who has that specialist knowledge and staff available to carry out the work on your behalf. This will often work out cheaper than employing a dedicated member of staff to prepare the payroll in-house.
Our payroll sofware enables us to provide a bespoke service to meet our clients' requirements and also enables them to link to their financial records. We provide a full computerised payroll service including processing pay, production of payslips and monthly PAYE payment slip, Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity and Paternity Pay calculations. At the end of the tax year we prepare the year endRreturns, P14's/P60's, P11D's and Class 1A National Insurance Returns.
Working entitlements advice on all aspects of payroll is available free to members of our Taxwise Professional Fee Protection Scheme.

The Construction Industry Scheme, as it's name suggests, is specifically for the construction industry and has some complex requirements. Any contractor taking on a new sub-contractor must first ensure that they are verified with H M Revenue & Customs before any payment can be made. At that time the contractor will be advised of the rate of tax deductions to be applied to the new sub-contractor. Any payments subsequently made must be accompanied by a remittance advice in a format conforming to the H M Revenue & Customs guidelines.
Once again our payroll department can handle all this for you, from the verification through to the issuing of the remittance advice and Statement Of Payment And Deduction. H M Revenue & Customs require all forms to be submitted on-line and we will apply for an authorisation number which will allow us to carry out all on-line submissions on your behalf.
